"Ilona Kálnoky's enigmatic clay cubes induce in the viewer a heightened awareness of their materiality.
The contrasting black and white colour of the sculptures invite the viewer to look closer at their shape and form.
They epitomise what it meant to create sculptures in an experimental manner.

Incorporating in the creative process elements of unpredictability.
Kálnoky fires the clay sculptures in a pit she makes by herself, allowing in this way
the environmental and soil to play a role in the final outcome."
